Biography
Diane Dietz, lyric soprano, is an active musician in the St. Louis metropolitan area. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Illinois College and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
While pursuing her singing career, Ms. Dietz has served on the voice faculties of Webster University, St. Louis University, McKendree College, Southern Illinois University and Illinois College. She has maintained her training while attending summer programs such as Opera in the Ozarks, Black Hills Summer Institute of the Arts, Wesley Balk Institute, Pitten Music Festival (Pitten, Austria), Classical Music Festival (Eisenstadt, Austria), James Joyce Symposium (Trieste, Italy) and Vocal Institute of Performance and Pedagogy with Richard Miller. Most recently, she appeared in several scenes with the Memphis Opera and Song Academy, including scenes from Arabella (Zdenka) and Der Freischütz (Ännchen).
Ms. Dietz has performed extensively with SIUE Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and St. Louis Symphony Chorus, with which she has served as a professional member for several years. In 2005, she had the privilege of understudying Christine Brewer in Mozart’s Requiem.
Operatic roles include Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), Countess (The Marriage of Figaro), Dido (Dido and Aeneas) and Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors).
